Simple DIY Mother’s Day Gift Ideas #LikeNeverBefore

5/09/2017

Nothing Says "I Love You Mom & Thank You For Everything" better than a thoughtful DIY gift, cuz any monkey with a phone book can buy / order stuff, but a gift is made extra special when its made with love, and specially made for one person. <3

1. Customized Scent - Go to your nearest perfume bar and formulate a scent for mum. Grab a fab box and decorate it. I made one for my mom way back, and called it “A Mothers Love”. Printed a label and placed it on the bottle and box. <3

2. Cook her something (anything!) - Thinking of taking Mom out for bunch/lunch/dinner? This year why not consider making her breakfast instead? Start her day with an awesome breakfast in bed with all of her favorite good morning dishes. Or if she's not a breakfast person, make her a cute bento lunch or a candle light dinner. Don't worry the internet has your back, when it comes to prepping the dishes. Your Mom will love it no matter how delicious or disgusting it is. Hahahaha!!!

3. Customized Journal - If you’re creative and crafty, buy a simple blank planner and fill it with all the stuff that your mom loves. Be it inspiring quotes, funny jokes and photos etc. You could even put in suggested activities on selected days, like a spa day and insert a spa coupon in there, or a gardening day with a small pack of flower seeds on the page. Personalize it for her. <3 And make everyday special. <3

4. Framed Photo of you and your Mom with a heartfelt handwritten letter - Pick your favorite photo of you and your Mom. Pick out the prettiest stationary you can find (or print out your own!) And pour your heart in words. Make this letter a source of joy, inspiration and hope for your Mom. Say sorry for all the bad things you've done to her, thank her for always being there, and all the wishes you have for her. The goal here is to make her cry tears of joy! Hahaha!!! Make it a letter she'll cherish forever. And everything she'll see that photo, she'll remember everything in your letter.

5. Happy Memory Jar - Fill a jar with notes filled with happy memories the two of you have, and have her open one whenever she feels down. Keep adding memories on the jar. You can even put in a few jokes here and there or even funny pictures.

6. Slideshow/Video (AVP) - You don't need high end equipment for this. You just download the Quick App and a collection of photos and videos of you and your mom through the years. It's super easy, cuz the app puts everything together, all you have add the photos/videos, captions and select the music and viola! Your AVP's done. But if you have iMovie / Movie Maker / Adobe Premiere / Final Cut much better! You'r Mom will love it any other way.

7. Mothers Day Coupons - Print out coupons giving out, a free chore, ONE BIG HUG, foot massage etc... She'll love this!!!

8. Gardening Kit - Buy a cute plant box and fill it with cute gardening tools, a sack of fertilized soil and flower / plant seeds. Add cute ribbons on each item to make it extra cute. Hihihi...

9. Care Kit - Fill a bag with goodies that she loves, and stuff that she'd might forget to buy for herself. Make it thoughtful and add cute and funny notes on it. Example, put a note on a lipstick that says, "Cover your Prince Charming with kiss marks w/ this", or on a chocolate bar, "When your PMS'ing" HAHAHA!!!

10. Be there like never before - Voice/Video Call her! With Smart's newest and fastest LTE network! Whenever I"m out and about, I see to it that I update my Mom (and my Dad too) with my whereabouts, so they won't worry too much. I hope someday my kid would do the same to me. <3
